As part of Tour The Writer, a national development programme led by Paines Plough, Susan Luciani is creating a new original piece of writing for stage, DOMESTIC, the true story of one woman’s experience of nine years of Domestic Abuse, in “one of the worst cases we’ve ever seen” Midlands Police.

DOMESTIC is a one act play that takes place on an empty stage, using projections to illustrate the fragments of memory and disorientation abuse survivors experience, as part of the mind’s mechanism to cope with the violence and cruelty perpetrated upon them.

A two woman play, DOMESTIC features her story, as well as featuring characters from police, social services, the courts, medical services to investigate why the current system in place doesn’t protect women under threat in their own homes.
